Day 01 Guwahati drive to Dirang. (430 kms -8-9 hours)
After a long drive so there will be no sightseeing on this day only some just evening- walk in Dirang those who are interested to go.
Overnight accommodation will be in Dirang.
Day 02 Drive to Tawang (134 km – 4hrs).
Morning after breakfast check out and visit some local sightseeing in Dirang and drive to Tawang like:

Morning: Explore the Beautiful Sangti Valley.
Located just 15 km away from Dirang, Sangti Valley is a beautiful destination, which not many visits. Dotted with forested mountains comprising pine trees, wildflowers, rivers, you will get glimpses of the new parts of this state. It is no doubt one of the best places to see in Dirang.
You can visit the homes of the locals, meet the sheep, or stroll through the meadows – no matter what you do, you will love your time in this secluded valley. If you drive, you need around 30 minutes to reach Sangti valley from Dirang, 8km away. You will love the gorgeous lush landscapes which turn rich green right after the monsoons, with the terraced fields, seasonal flowers, and gushing waterfalls and streams at every turn make the valley fascinating. Also, when you are here, stop at Khaso Steel Bridge near Sangti.
You can witness various fruit orchids, including oranges, apples, lemon and kiwis. Also, do not miss spotting some exotic Himalayan birds when you are here. If you are here during the winter, you will witness the magical snow-clad valleys and mountains. If you are lucky, you may even get to see snowfall. The best time to visit Sangti Valley is the summer between April to June or September to October. If you want to witness snow, late December or January would be ideal, although roads may be blocked if the snowfall is higher.
Visit the National Research Centre on Yak
One of the top places to visit in Dirang is the National Research Centre on Yak. Located in the West Kameng District in Dirang of Arunachal Pradesh, this premier institute was established in 1989 by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to conserve and sustain the Indian species of Yak inhabiting the mountainous regions of the upper Himalayas.
The research centre is also dedicated to the improvement and upliftment of Yak husbandry, including fostering yaks’ health and conducting research on genetic resources to improve the efficiency of Yak Farming. You have to secure a permit first at the office to enter the research centre. Did you know? The Yak research centre has more than 150 varieties of Yaks. Nestled amidst the beautiful Eastern Himalayas, the views from the centre are stunning. It is no wonder it is one of the top tourist places in Dirang that you should not miss.
Also, visit their yak farm at Nyukmandung above the main road, where you can shop for different types of cheese and their products, along with some small souvenirs to take home.
Afternoon drive to Tawang
Overnight accommodation will be in Tawang.
Day 03– After Breakfast you will be having full day sightseeing of Tawang.
After breakfast drive to Tawang. While going to Tawang you will be visiting: Dirang monetary, Jaswant Garh, Sella Pass Snow area Depend on your time you can visit the followed tourist spots too.
Tawang Monastery (Gaden Namgyal Lhatse): Tawang Monastery about 400 years old, situated at an altitude of approximately 10,000 ft. is the second largest Buddhist monastery in India. It also holds the distinction of being the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. The monastery is the house of more than 700 monks. Urqelling Monastery: It is the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama who is the only Indian to have risen to such a high position in Gelupka Sect of Buddhism so far. Inside the monastery there are several Stupas and people from all walks of life visit this place during Buddhist New Year to get the blessing for the coming year.
Tawang War Memorial: After lunch around 3: 30 pm we will leave for Tawang War Memorial. The memorial is dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian war. The memorial is 40-foot-high and like a stupa in design. It is locally called ‘Namgyal Chortan’. The names of 2420 martyrs imprinted in gold on 32 black granite plagues.
Overnight accommodation will be in Tawang.
Day 04– After Breakfast you will be having half day sightseeing of Tawang.
As soon after breakfast will be driven to the McMohan Line (Line of Control – Indo China). Later come back to Tawang.
Sangestser Lake: This Lake was formed during the earthquake of 1950. The lake nestles between huge mountains and is clear and beautiful with what looked like a hundred bamboo poles standing straight up in the water all over the lake. The Lake is one of the remotest high-altitude lakes in the country and is deeply revered by Buddhists.
Pangateng Tso Lake (P.T. Tso Lake): There are number of beautiful lakes around Tawang. Among them Pangateng Tso, a natural lake that forms when the snow melts in summer, located 17 km away from Tawang is the most beautiful.
The Bum La Pass is located about 37 km away from Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, at the Indo-China border above 16,500 ft above sea level. The road to Bum La is also a historical route, the People. Liberation Army of China invaded India during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Here in Bum La Pass one of the fiercest battles took place in the 1962 Sino-Indian War. In 2006, Bumla pass was re-opened to traders for the first time in 44 years. Traders from both sides of the pass were permitted to enter each other’s territories, in addition to postal workers from each country. It is often covered with heavy snow throughout the year. It is one of the most off-beat passes in the world and is also referred to as the pass from where Dalai Lama entered India escaping from Tibet. This is a really beautiful place.
Afternoon drive to Bomdila (176 kms – 4-5 hours) and overnight in Bomdila.
Day 05 – Bomdilla to Guwahati ( 399kms 8-9hrs)
The activities for this day will depend on the time available before your flight. Most of our guests choose to relax at the hotel.
After breakfast continue Driving and back to Guwahati.
